1: Read the rules. Yeah, I know they can be boring and long winded, but I promise they're worth looking at. They'll give you more of an idea of what this place is about, what we expect from a player, and what a player can expect from our site. Find them here.
2: Register. Self explanatory, maybe, but there's a right and wrong way to do this if you want to get writing as soon as possible. The right way is to register with a believable and sensible name as the rules explain. We want to approve you and get you up and running as much as you want it!
3: Apply. Now, whether you are applying as a Canon or as an OC, the process is pretty much the same. Choose the right template from the application area, fill it out (try to be detailed, because admin loves an indepth app!), and post it up so admin can peruse it and let you know as soon as possible when you can start writing.
4: Read. While you're waiting for your application to be approved, feel free to read the current game so you can get a feel for it. Never been part of a literary roleplay before? Familiarise yourself with the concept here.
5: Write! Your character has been accepted? Great! Head on down to the RP area, or say hi in the cbox first. You'll find lots of people willing to start writing with you, so don't be shy!

What year is this RP set in?
We are set in present day New York City and everything is pretty much the same as it would be normally, except for the mutations that have been appearing over the last two years.
What sort of original character can I make?
Quite literally, just about anything. New York City is a city of variety and, of course, variety is the spice of life! Some basic things to decide are whether you are human or part mutant? Pro mutants or against? And if you're against, are you perhaps part of the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragons or H.A.T.E? As you can see, there are lots of choices!
What are the new mutations like?
To keep the TMNT as special and unique as possible, they are the ONLY animals turned humanesque. The rest of the mutants, the ones who were exposed to a much more diluted form of mutagen have only small animalistic traits. They may have tails, fur, animal ears, horns, hooves instead of feet and hands, etc etc. All we ask is no FULL mutations. Some humans may only be affected by the mind as well, if you prefer something more subtle, but that doesn't mean we want a heap of psychics running around. Let's try to keep things at least a little believable! Yes, some pets and such would have been affected, but in small ways as well. Perhaps your dog can now hover like a bird, or your pet iguana is now fur covered. Use your imagination! Bear in mind, though, that mutants lives are hard, shunned by most and even hunted down by certain groups.
Who are these groups and how do I get involved in one?
It will be easiest to give you a brief run down of each major group here, good and bad.
The Foot Clan: Started in Japan a long time ago, the Foot Clan are a band of ninjas, highly trained in the martial arts and once led by Oroku Saki, the Shredder. Since we are set after the events of movie, Oroku Saki seemingly met his demise by falling into a dump truck and being crushed. Unbeknownst to most of the Foot, he is dead. He survived though, a mere shell of the man he once was but he is slowly regaining power. If you plan on being a Foot ninja, you won't be meeting Saki straight away. Right now they are a scattered group, hiding from authorities and trying to find their way back to greatness.
The Purple Dragons: A street gang led by Hunter Mason, commonly known as Hun, they are mean, hedonistic and don't care who they hurt to get what they want. Hun is huge and lethal and his group are often drunk and high on drugs. The only thing that keeps them together is the respect they have for Hun. Think of a werewolf pack, with Hun being their Alpha. This gang is fairly easy to get into and they accept all kinds so long as they can fight and have the drive to serve while terrorising the city. They are kings of the underworld...for now.
H.A.T.E: (Humans Against the Enemy) Even bigger bullies than the Dragons, H.A.T.E has only a few differences to the street gang. Discretion and money. This group was brought together by one need, to rid the city of the mutants who the members see as an infection, a danger to the city and they will stop at nothing to kill them all. Most members are, on the surface, well respected members of the community like their founder and benefactor, Daniel Maitland. But, with sophisticated weapons and a strict silence code, no-one would imagine what they accomplish during night time hours.
